When we saw the old waiting room from the Port Appin-Isle of Lismore ferry terminal being carted away for scrap, we knew we had to step in and reclaim it. It’s now our Ferry Cabin, renovated and rehomed in Mhor grounds, with uninterrupted views up Balquhidder Glen. Furnished with a funky, eclectic selection of found and new items, the Cabin and adjoining Bothy have a fun, cosy atmosphere.
Our reclaimed Bothy, designed by architecture students Mark Kitson and Michael Cockburn, sits beside the Ferry Cabin, providing a kitted-out kitchen and living space for guests, and has its own dedicated bathroom facilities at the hotel, a minute away. With picture-window framed changing views over the loch, wood-burning stove, rugs, dining area, and outdoor fire pit, it’s a charmed escape from your everyday.
Ferry Cabin & Bothy sleeps up to 4; self-cater, or book in for breakfast and dinner at the hotel.
